January 14, 2024 - I didn’t take notes while tasting but this was fantastic. Rich animal and earthy notes along with granite and dark fruits. Beautiful now and feels like this will continue to get better.
December 16, 2022 - Dark fruit (cherry, blueberry), spice, earth, olive, good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.
April 18, 2021 - Very good aromatics of tar with a bit of black olive and blackberry. Medium bodied with still fresh sweet/savory fruit with no hint of wood or brett. The tarry, berry fruit has a nice purity. Perfect right now for my palate. I like wine to age to a point of balance while still retaining some punch.
March 31, 2019 - The recent brett comments had me a little worried, but this bottle was brett free. I gave this one plenty of air, but it was pretty reserved until the very end. There was also a lot of sediment in suspension, so stand this one up for a week before opening. While enjoyable, it feels like it’s still in hibernation. Rating withheld for now, will revisit in 2025.
January 20, 2019 - Brett city. Undrinkable for my hyper Brett sensitive palate
July 24, 2017 - Softer and riper than my previous tasting in January 2017, both upon opening and throughout several hours of decanting.
January 6, 2017 - Some rubber and sulphur upon opening that blew off with more air. Nice balance of fruit and only limited sweetness on the palate. Acidity is moderate-to-low. Silky dark fruit with notes of leather, pepper, and bacon on the palate. Definitely approachable with brief decanting.
October 28, 2016 - Super dark and super dense, Just opened and we shall see where it goes.
March 28, 2014 - As always, the dense- of the set.
January 24, 2014 - Superb bottle of wine. Nice balance, complexity and finish.
