Community Tasting Notes 10

June 21, 2022 - Burgundies and Barolos (89 & 10 DRC, Clos Vougeot, Lambrays, and more) at Fig Tree (Charlotte, NC): 6pm slo-ox, consumed at 6:45pm; Perfect provenance and it shows.
Elegant aromas of dusty red fruits. Soft and fully resolved on the palate. Still a hint of primary flavors (red fruits and plums) but this had a fabulous secondary profile – loose herbal tea, sauvage, and notes of browning leaves. Delicate and delicious finish. A wine to be savored and not rushed. An exceptional showing, Drink now.

September 23, 2020 - Sous bois, earth, soy, tea, and dark fruit on the nose. Palate is better than the nose but it is a bit too savoury for a DRC.

June 15, 2019 - Like the DRC Rich89 next to it this showed its age in the nose with earthy notes, wet forest floor. Good complexity with lovely Vosne spice on the finish. Mature, drink up.

April 4, 2018 - From Jero - bit of Vosne spice, quite fresh and vivid, not very deep or profound but nice wine

September 12, 2017 - from large format - good wine but the follow-through is just a bit dry. seeming to lack a bit of fruit intensity. but well made and good experience.
