Community Tasting Notes 10

April 23, 2022 - Still some dark red fruit but fading while the acids are predominating.
Some suggestions of earth on palate and finish. Past its prime by a lot.

September 11, 2016 - Dull, bricking ruby color. The nose has red plum fruit and an herbal element. The palate is fully resolved yet there is still brightness due to strong acidity. Glad this is my last bottle as I think it is close to gong down the acid monster slope. Today, there is still enough fruit to provide an enjoyable (not memorable) experience. Good but there are much better Cote Rotie’s out there. (87)

August 3, 2014 - Opened by Otis. Despite being older this was fruitier than the 2003 Bonserine CR opened next to it. Opened but not decanted 3 hours before dinner. Paired with smoked bacon wrapped duck breasts. Ruby color with some bricking. Lighter tannins. Notes of ripe berries, raspberries, plum and leather. 90-91 points.

November 28, 2013 - Wine neede to open up a little and was probably at its peak. perfect pairing for our holiday turkey

October 9, 2012 - Pale red color. Stemmy nose with red meat and black pepper notes. This is old school. Medium bodied and fresh acid. There is just barely enough fruit to fill in the classic structure gaps. Not great, but still kicking. Good dinner wine in a very classic style. (88)
