Community Tasting Notes 5

July 27, 2014 - Deep black core, ruby rim, no trace of oxidation visually even though it is 11 years old. Clean earth with subtle sultry fruit on nose, but ample dark fruits on palate. Beautifully textured smooth tannins, both grape and oak, fully integrated; moderate acidity; high but unobtrusive alcohol. Rich, full bodied, persistent, heavy palate weight, perfectly balanced. Drinking wonderfully now, but has many more years of life ahead. Really nice, high quality cork too.

May 31, 2010 - Almost black with a purple rim. Very fruity in the nose (blackberry, plums, black currant), but some aromas of leather are starting to emerge. Very tannic in the mouth, almost sweet, with a good vanilla finish.

September 8, 2008 - Martin Scott Portfolio Tasting 2008 (East Side of Central Park, NYC): IsKra, by Marina Cvetic (Gianni Masciarelli's wife).
    100% Montepulciano d'Abruzzo.
JoeG: "Ripe, modern, oak aged. Declassified to IGT". Smelled Oxidized to me.
