January 8, 2022 - Succulent chocolate covered cherries with ample acid, resolved tannins and a long satisfying finish. Decadent and delicious, my WOTN. A couple of years to go but no reason to wait.
August 26, 2020 - Decanted for 60+ minutes. Very first it was pruney, but very shortly everything came together. Plenty of acid and tannin. Certainly has some aging time left. It was soft and plush. Rich deep flavors, not complicated or layered. Just a basic sweetish (not sweet), smooth, balanced, full bodied and straightforward wine. Very easy to like, but be careful of the 15.2% alcohol. I took a nap after dinner!
July 18, 2020 - Pretty outstanding stuff. Rich and the fruit is delicious. Still has a good amount of acidity with a hint of spice and the finish last for a long time. Amazing wine.
May 10, 2020 - Ready to drink
Prune nose, tobacco and cherry finish
Smooth and little acid
November 19, 2019 - Plummy, jammy plush. Brought to a party, so a complete description is not available.
May 25, 2019 - Singing! Opened for an hour. Loved throughout 5 hours.
December 19, 2018 - 30 minute decant. The nose is a bit subdued. The palate of the other hand is very big shouldered napa full bodied merlot. Rich fruit flavors of black cherry, black currant, chocolate and some oak framing. This is now at the early stage of its prime drinking window which could last another ten years as the alcohol and tannins are still substantial. No question this is well made and enjoyable if a bit overdone.
December 6, 2018 - Similar richness to the Hartwell merlot I had recently but a step up in energy and complexity (could be the vintage). 2 years since last bottle. Very nice with dark rich fruit. Lots of structure and long finish with chocolate, tobacco and coffee.
July 4, 2018 - Slight tightness out of the bottle, then perfect with velvety smoothness after decanting and resting for 90 mins Perfect pairing with a seated mid rare strip steak.
November 24, 2017 - Delicious w thanksgiving fixings! Nice body, fruit and earthiness
