Community Tasting Notes 4

February 11, 2023 - 94ish nose, 88ish palate today. Really pretty nose that's well described by the other notes here - but smells older than it is. Palate is a little thin but still a wall of tannin - tastes younger than it is. Needs at least 5 more years to come together. Then it will have a gorgeous old nose and a well balanced palate. Could be 94, 95 points in time.

March 13, 2021 - Beautiful nose of burnt tar, figs, and sour cherries. Palate has the characteristic sour cherry with dark fruit and squishy tannins. Definitely something that reminds you of long-lost friends while you sit next to a lake staring at the flock of birds flying over the partially frozen lake.

September 23, 2020 - very 2011, light bodied and med plus acidity (which I like)... just not enough body / oomph to tickle my fancy (and I'm not an in-ur-face lover)... especially for a Bonnes Mares... nothing wrong with this wine but not up to my expectations for B/M... no greenies however, which is good

January 21, 2018 - Le Grennouille Restaurant NYC. A taught and lean wine st this stage. Showing very tart and stringent cherry followed by flower, dry stones, gravel and earth. Well made, still young.
