January 26, 2019 - Not a detailed note, but a lovely fresh Rioja with clear sweet fruit and crisp tannins, long fruit driven finish. 89

January 11, 2016 - Didn't expect much. Bought at a big discount. But I thought it was nice. Long, complex finish. Enjoyed.

October 18, 2015 - A nice, inexpensive everyday drinking wine. Good ruby colour. A nose of raspberries, sour cherries and redcurrants, with a dusty, savoury edge. Some spicy oak. Similar flavours on palate, particularly tart red cherries, with dry earth and underbrush. There's oak there but it's not overdone. Reasonable fruit weight and acidity. Good QPR. A wine to drink rather than cellar. 85% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano and 5% Mazuelo fermented in stainless steel to 13.5% alc., the wine spending 20 days on skins and aged 18 months in American and French oak.

June 16, 2015 - pleasantly surprised, had relegated to a just drink up purchase not to be repeated to be promoted to not a bad mid week wine. Has benefited from being stored properly and treated well when opened, displayed some depth and character not present a year ago and went down well with spicy meats , bread and olives.

May 4, 2015 - Laden with so much oak, any fruit aspect was difficult to see, even with an hour or two in the decanter. I know Gran Reserva's aren't shy on oak but this was a bit much for me, even for the bargain price.
