July 7, 2019 - Very high toned. Black and blue fruit, licorice, cocoa, pepper and menthol. This is acidic driven in the mouth with some tannin on the back dusting the mouth but still with some sweetness. Lots of lift and structure. Really good.

June 7, 2019 - Outstanding. Long silky smooth. Tannins old world like. Not your typical zin.

Lots of sediment so decant needed.

Ridge just makes quality wines all the way down the line.

May 6, 2019 - Wow, this bottle was very tight and youthful. Cork was perfect and there was a fair bit of tartrate crystal buildup on the bottom of the cork.

Drank like a very young geyserville. Lots of palate drenching blackberry bramble and structure.

My other bottles of 2012 have been much more advanced with the associated softening and complexity. I wish I’d saved this one for the future. 91+

March 23, 2019 - 14.3% abv. Dark ruby, expressive aromas. Ripe plum, black cherry, pomegranate and a bit of dark chocolate on the palate. Excellent intensity, depth and length. This adolescent Geyser is just entering its time to strut.

March 17, 2019 - One hour decant for a bit of sediment. Everything in balance here. Fruit forward with characteristic baking spice nose, red and black fruit layered beneath. Could have passed for an older cab. Oak still present but not intrusive. Rich, round flavors and a nice, long finish. I still hesitate at the cost to buy these, rarely do I regret it when I drink them later. This has long life ahead yet.
