January 21, 2021 - Trio of Muscadets: Still tastes so young! Like biting into a granny smith apple. The color does show the age when compared to the other two younger wines. This does appear to have the most acid of all the wines.

High Acidity. Slight mineral edge, but not as the second wine.

July 4, 2017 - Light gold - clear. Medium aromas of lemon creme and unripe stone fruit with fantastic minerality. Medium palate of citrus and again with intense fantastic mineral/ chalk component. I love it.

June 9, 2017 - I found this wine more mellow and less acidic and minerally than described by others. A nice, everyday wine.

April 18, 2014 - France: 38 Wines from Kermit Lynch (E&R Wine Shop, Portland OR): Very pungent aromas, almost funky, but it's primarily grassy notes. Fresh palate, zesty and nice. Mineral driven and pretty sharp. Nice finish, with soft, soily veggies.

March 10, 2014 - With deference to Wine-Strategies, I unfortunately didn't have a couple dozen oysters on hand, but can happily report that this went amazingly with saffron risotto & chicken. Palate cleansing acidity with a clean refreshing finish set up the next bite perfectly. Muted nose, but that's not what this was built for. Citrus, melon, and every so often a hint of apricot came through.

December 11, 2013 - I'm sure I'm wrong here, and that Kermit, Asimov, and other CT tasters are right, but this bored the pants off of me. There's some bracing acidity, to be sure, and I'm sure if I were outside on a lovely day in Point Reyes slurping shellfish or something, I'd hardly see the wine as being worth commenting on. But it struck me on this occasion as being a wholly unexceptional wine.

March 31, 2013 - What jelly is to peanut butter, and butter is to toast, this wine is to Oysters. One bottle was all I had on hand to wash down 2 dozen freshly shucked Kumamoto, but given how tasty this is (and, as Drwine2001 says, given the spotty quality of Loire in 2011), this is clearly one of the standouts; I've promptly ordered a case, though I doubt that'll be enough to carry us through this summer. Good now, probably even better summer '14 as this still has some development remaining. highly recommended, 12,0% abv
