May 6, 2023 - Kleur: Diep opaak donkerrood. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Smaak / Afdronk: 19 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 94/100

i] Colour:[/i] Deep opaque dark red. Aroma / bouquet: The bouquet of this wine seems to require some patience at the beginning. Initially subtle with notes of dried fruit, subtly lactic (buttermilk). Even after serious aeration and 24 hours after opening, the bouquet does not become much more expressive. Taste / Aftertaste: The first thing that strikes me about this Napa-Premier Grand Cru Classé is the - especially for the 'new world' - refined acidity. Powerful, but at the same time opulent and buttery, wine. Beautiful complex layering, a wine where everything seems to be right. Long aftertaste. General / potential: As far as I'm concerned, a serious difference in presentation, a somewhat closed bouquet, but in the mouth this wine makes up for everything. 50 + Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 11 + Taste / Aftertaste: 19 + General / potential: 9 = 94/100

May 22, 2022 - I tasted this wine from barrel when visiting Bond many years ago, and was not fully convinced at that time. Twelve years have given it a chance to knit into a towering, majestic bottle.

The 2010 Pluribus is still quite dark in color, with a nose centered on sweetly ripe plums and cassis inflected by tobacco, creme caramel, and crushed walnut. On the palate, the first impression is of a tart expression of fruit enveloped in suede with a stony minerality that lifts the finish out to a very long fade. But as the wine lingers in the mouth you find new layers of complexity, and a striking richness. Further sips reveal a cleanly delineated, almost sculpted midpalate. Quite a remarkable accomplishment!

January 17, 2017 - Winter in Wineland; 1/14/2017-1/20/2017 (Sonoma & Napa): Another favorite of mine from the tasting. It's heavier black fruits (similar to the St Eden) but this time they are not quite as ripe/extra sweet. Get a lot of leaves, forest floor, pine needles as well. Much more earthy than the other wines. Again some more drying tannin. This is one of the big boys.

January 16, 2017 - Complex aromatics of smoke, pine needle sap, blackberry and menthol. It is dense and dark in the mouth and feels like it may be just about to enter shut-down mode. There is real depth and finish that is chewy and showing some sweet cedar.

May 31, 2016 - The nose showed violet florals with black fruits, crushed stone, hints of smoke and lifting herbal tones. On the palate, it displayed silky textures, yet it was still youthfully lean and tannic with smoky red fruits, exotic spice, and minerals. The finish was structured with a coating of fine tannin contrasted by dry yet saturating dark fruit and spice. This is still so young and hard to read.

February 28, 2015 - A Matter of Taste: London Edition (Saatchi Gallery, Chelsea): An inescapably inviting nose of sweet, ripe fruit with tremendous depth; warm but not hot; intense, savory wild berry flavors, which gently step back then reassert on the finish; firm tannins supporting a racy structure with loads of acidity pushing the guard rails but never losing balance; flirts with perfection, as they say.
