June 12, 2019 - Surprisingly young. Fine sediment, mostly red color. Aromas and flavors of flowers, red fruit, and burnt earth. Still plenty of primary fruit, tannin is still present, not a lot of acid. Not terribly complex, but fairly delicious. Given the price point, this is punching above its weight 18 years after the vintage.

April 2, 2019 - Quite surprised with this wine, very strong for the price point. Beautiful aromas of violets, tar, pine, black cherry. The palate is quite approachable with savory berry tampenade flavors, supple tannins, and supporting acidity. An absolutely beautiful value Barolo from a great vintage. I need to own more of this type of wine.

October 12, 2018 - Forgot about these in the basement. Too bad. Well past its prime and barely drinkable. Very brown edges, simple jammy flavor. May use the remaining bottles for cooking.

March 7, 2018 - Bought a few of these on a whim, quite affordable for a great vintage, and glad I did. Cork broke in half but got it out. PnP to try and then a 1-2 hour slow ox before re-visiting. Would decant if doing again. Really excellent. Color showing some age with some slight orange. Nose has iron, almost like blood, also earth. Very nice palate with some good red fruit and fig. Good acidity and some firm tannic grip. Dried flowers and dried meat. Good value on this.

February 10, 2017 - Dried fruit on the nose, color clearly showing its age, and slight port-like fruit on the palate with silky tannins.
