October 19, 2019 - PnP and drank out of blue solo cup at a tailgate. This has added a good deal of depth since the last time I had it in 2015. Dark black and red fruit with some meaty characteristics. My guess is this would show even better with proper stemware. Seems to have plenty of life left in it.

June 21, 2019 - Quick note. Dark, smooth and rich, this is "open for business" and delicious. Black plum, licorice, baked black fruit flavors, viscous, long. Spot on to drink now.

December 22, 2018 - A shy child when first opened that needs about two hours of decant before coming out from behind its mothers skirt. The first tentative steps were restrained and cautious but after a few minutes the depth and character came out displaying a dry but deep personality with a floral announcement. Slightly ripe blackberry, dried plum, and cracked leather with a balanced spice topping. The best playmate of all the kids on the table was green olives that tempered the stubborn tannins so the more pleasant fruit aspects of the wines personality would emerge.

August 5, 2018 - drank along with the Bedrock 2010 Hudson's Syrah and 2012 Monte Rosso Zin. They were all good but the Hudson's Syrah was the favorite. This Syrah might get better in a couple years since it has acid and structure left. Nice cooler climate Syrah. I don't think Morgan is able to make a bad wine

July 12, 2018 - Pretty nose of pure blackberry fruit, with a smattering of dried flowers. Acid is prominent on the palate and needs a half an hour in glass to start to soften and come into balance with the luxurious palate of an almost zin-like bramble fruit, tart blueberry, and stony lick of minerals. Fine, still slightly drying tannins are in a good place and providing structure. Long, rewarding finish. A tad of heat on the back, but it’s well managed.

Has started to fall apart on day 2, and day 3 has lost much of its lift and energy. Would not try to hold this for too long.
