May 14, 2012 - 10 years of age on this bottle did it well. Dark fruit good acid and strong finish very much worth the wait.

January 11, 2012 - The huge cabernet nose came barreling out of the bottle as soon as I pulled the cork. Great deep, dark color with a hint of brick red age showing around the edges. Gobs of stone fruit packed in here, black plums and dark cherries, rounded out with a tad bit of dark chocolate and a hint of cassis. Tannins are still quite powerful, but in a velvety sort of way that just caresses the palate. Long, lingering finish. Near its peak, but will likely last another two to three years before decline sets in. Yummy!!!

October 4, 2009 - Just a huge nose as soon as I pulled the cork. Great depth of color with a little brick red starrsing to show. Incredible cab fruit in the mouth. Wow! Wonderful!

October 3, 2009 - Huge nose as soon as I pulled the cork. Great cab fruit, tannins still a little rough around the edges, but the fat of a good prime steak will cut right through that. Fruit coming through nice, and my guess is this wine has another 8 - 10 years of life.

August 15, 2009 - I confess, I"m a Hobbs FAN. Elegant nose dark cherry and red berries blossoming as the wine takes air. Full mouth, very well balanced with a full, long finish, lingering. An incredible value in this price point. Paul, keep doing your magic!

November 26, 2008 - Really starting to come along. Firm, ripe, juicy tannins. Great big cabernet fruit, with a pretty strong cassis character going on. Went wonderfully with grilled rib eye.

May 21, 2007 - Dark purple with thick viscous legs. Nose of raspberry, leather, tobacco and briar patch. Very soft tannins with great mouth feel. Raspberry, asian spice, and cocoa with great structure and balance. I had a bottle two years ago and found it very tight and tannic. If you have this in your cellar, I recommend you drink this now, I can't see this getting any better.

April 27, 2007 - Very nice as described by others - nice dark berry characters, good mouth feel. A little tight at opening, but opened up wonderfully with an hour or two. Would have went higher but just an undertone of agustura bitters that while not making the wine unpleasant, was just that odd little background hint of something annoying that kept if from being being as pleasurable as the wine could be.

May have been a hint of taint, but not quite teh right character. and only bought 1 bottle on a lark, so no second tasting.

March 26, 2006 - Immediately from the bottle ; raw, rustic, concentrated. After 3 hour decant ( no less); AMAZING NOSE. Beautiful cassis, medium to full bodied, fresh acidity on the finish. Great 30$ cabernet after 3 hours minimun at this time.
