May 2, 2024 - Drank at the end of the night, so my notes are limited. Lots of richness and complexity… but stylistically this wasn’t my favorite. I guess I just prefer a more crisp and linear champagne at the end of the day…

May 21, 2023 - This was much more impressive than at my last tasting 5-6 years ago. This is now ready to drink and has started losing some gas (which is no big deal for me). A lot more complex than the first time, with a lovely "young golden" colour. The nose is fabulous and intense, with the house signature, and offers some complex aromas of candied apple, nuts, lemon peel, wood and custard. Perfectly balanced and very long. To my taste, this is ready to be enjoyed and I wouldn't recommend to wait much longer. Cheers!

February 12, 2023 - Light hue of vanilla, citrus, coconut, tropical fruit, quite light actually but large and profound. Somewhat but less typically sweet than usual with VVF. It should improve much with time as the beautiful acidity is there. 94

October 23, 2022 - Quite opulent, round and complete. There's a charming sweetness that makes this fun to sip on its own.

    January 11, 2022 - Bollinger VVF 2004.

December 23, 2021 - Mostly Champagne & Burgs (VVF, Krug, DP, Rousseau, Fourrier,…): At first muted, this needed air to open up, get more expressive and exciting. The best glass, however, was on day two where it was full on with lots of beautiful aromas, a perfectly round and harmonious structure and texture and a quite perfect balance. One thing is clear, though, if I would have to judge just based on this bottle, I would safely say that VVFs are in no way worth the incredibly high admission price. 94 pts on day one, 95/96 pts on day three.

TN: The nose is a bit muted at first but gets more open with time but never over the two days it is a truly exciting, fully expressive bouquet. A clear step-up on the palate. Lots of complexity with notes of caramel, toffee, herbs, backed apple, lots of red berries, peach, quince and spices. Very rich, round and soft. Highly elegant with very fine bubbles (obviously, on day two). Super complex and very precise.

Decanting: This needed time to open up. I would give it 1 hour in a decanter (or follow it over a whole evening).

December 23, 2021 - Tasted blind, sided by side with the 1996 RD. Rich and ripe with lots of Pinot flavors around strawberry, peony, spices then also mineralic and earthy elements. Feels very young still. So much structure and aromatics here. Very good today and a long live ahead. 96-97

December 21, 2021 - Tasted blind as part of a Champagne and Burgundy tasting (plus pirates). Mostly pear fruit with noticeable oxidative notes of caramel and nuts. In fact with time in the glass this started to remind me more and more of a white Burgundy Gran Cru than a Champagne! Lots of detail and precision. Nicely fresh with a slightly creamy texture. Bronze medal in this tasting after Krug (169) and Dom Pérignon 2008.

December 21, 2021 - An unbelievable privilege to be able to taste this as the production is tiny and the prices crazy high. What a treat, a very unique Champagne of the very highest level. There are notes of citrus, red berries, flowers, spices, some autolytic notes and there is an almost phenolic/tannic touch of bitterness adding structure. It‘s full-bodied and authoritative, but with an excellent mouthfeel that shows plenty of finesse too. The medium-high acidity is cutting through everything and adding to the overall sense of class. Long finish with very good complexity. A real treat.
