August 6, 2022 - No trace of bricking. Crisp berry flavors. The quality of the vineyard still shows. Excellent.

November 29, 2020 - Dark, earthy, moody, and spicy nose. The spice carries through to the palate. This has very good length and depth, very persistent and fully engaging. Floral notes and warming spices win out over beautiful deep red fruit. Absolutely thrilling.

Same rating as a year and a half ago. Slow ox opened in the morning. Bought on auction 3 years ago and stored well since.

September 10, 2020 - Flagship example of Drew doing excellent work. Milestone in a long list of wines that don’t get talked about enough.

July 6, 2019 - Purplish dark red and clear. A: waves of damp dark soil, deep red fruit, spice, minty herbal notes, and dried rose petal. F: initially wild strawberry and exotic spice, good length throughout. As this warmed and opened, the flavors became more raspberry and rhubarb, all intermixed with a wonderful floral perfume. Bright, pretty, gorgeous, then the bit of spice again. Goes on and on...

Favorite wine of 2019 so far, and seems to be holding nothing back. Drink one; I think you'll be happy you did!

November 22, 2017 - The light nature of this wine is belied by the still youthful intensity of red fruit. At this time it is showing a swirl of that red fruit, juicy acidity and what this old boy interprets as underbrush. (It’s an old memory but the sous bois in this wine is strongly reminiscent of the smell and taste of getting whipped in the face by a branch while crashing though a thicket of huckleberry bushes in the lowlands of the Cascades). Lovely Anderson Valley stuff and a leading candidate for the table tomorrow.
