December 23, 2022 - From a magnum, opened, but not decanted for a little under an hour before pouring. This was part of a 16-person magnum night with my wine group. Enjoyed by all, some were surprised that it was mostly Cabernet Sauvignon.
October 22, 2021 - Interesting that this is quite different from my notes of the previous bottle earlier in the year. Just goes to show the amount of bottle variation. Superb flavour and aroma. Well balanced and showing tertiary development. Fruit is still present. Tons of cedar n the nose.
May 29, 2021 - Surprising amount of bell pepper on the nose, cigar, red cherry fruit. Well balanced with good acidity and tannins. Fruit is a bit shy compared to the acidity and tannins, but is distinctly present. Good secondary development but not a lot of tertiary happening yet. Finish is medium long.
Quite enjoyable with grilled strip loin.
February 16, 2021 - An excellent wine, large but not massive, with lots of complexity. This will easily age for another 10+ years but this was my only bottle - so I will have to find some more. I agree with some of the other notes that sufficient time to air is a must.
Quite deep ruby color, not yet showing any signs of age.
M+ strength aroma, dominated by dark berries and a little eucalyptus, mint and bell pepper - clearly Cabernet and again very little age showing.
Fairly high acid and full, grippy but soft tannins give this wine a great structure that balances the juicy dark fruits very well. Flavors match the nose, but the secondary and tertiary flavors - leather, caramel and vanilla - clearly coming through and dominating the long finish. Quite a full body.
January 30, 2021 - It has now reached its right drinking window. Amazing. Super deep dark cherries, leather,
cedar wood. Not your new world fruit bomb but an incredible Tuscan Cab with its own uniqueness.
December 31, 2020 - Beautiful wine. Opened this up for new years with beef wellington.
Opened 2 hrs prior to eating. First glass right away was nice, but definitely need some time to fully open. By the end of the evening it was silky and full of flavour.

September 1, 2019 - A nice surprise - the best showing of this wine in the past 5 years. It’s opening and mellowing, Italian cabernet showing that Italian cab can be subtle and still structured and beautiful. Aromatics are still muted, even after open 5 hours. In the mouth though it shows good varietal character without any digging - that is, without having to power through hot alcohol, big tannins, powerful black fruit, everything I despise about the so-called “big” Napa cabs. Very much on the opposite side of the spectrum. Soft black fruit, touch of menthol, a bit of cassis. A bit of clamp-down tannins on the end in the 4th and 5th hour. Still, a lovely wine.
August 1, 2019 - Very seductive aromas with wonderfully concentrated and sweet dark fruit of plum, blackcurrant, blackberry, clear graphite, warm licorice, sweet tobacco, iron and hints of stables.
Pretty full-bodied yet surprisingly fresh and appealing wine. Soft texture with dark juicy berries of ripe black currant, plum and pretty graphite that impress. Really integrated and soft tannin structure. 15% alcohol is not showing. Great balance in the wine. This is an excellent wine, although it may be a bit modern in the expression of some. 94 points.
July 25, 2019 - Had this with my wine group. Out of a magnum, it was opened, but not decanted, for about 45 minutes before we poured it. Lots of fruit, good finish, with the tanins being manageable. This was medium to full bodied, with a good finish.
