March 22, 2024 - Excellent and in balance for 15.1% ABV
October 28, 2022 - Didn't follow my own normal advice here: drink Zins while they're young.
Over a few evenings; this never was great, solo or paired w/ spicier foods.
September 3, 2021 - My wife was really wowed by this wine... and she usually just quietly enjoys her wine. Bright fruit, soft tannins, so much life for its age... even on day number two.
August 28, 2021 - PnP and drank over 2.5 hours. No detailed notes. Started mostly dark fruit — plums? Blackberries? — with hints of cranberry. After 90 minutes the cranberries predominated. Nice spice. Nice surprise.
January 5, 2021 - Pretty straight forward rich red fruit. High acid/alcohol and not very balanced. Still has time
But not sure this will ever completely integrate into a cohesive wine. Good for a glass or two but alcohol is to pronounced to be enjoyable on its own.
September 24, 2019 - Holds its strong alcohol with plenty of acid grip, and then al that dark berry fruit and spice.
June 19, 2019 - Great bottle - dark raspberry, black pepper, medium+ length finish.
August 24, 2018 - A bit light at opening, decant at least 45 minutes. Lighter fruit and finish but still going strong. Do not see it improving with anymore age, so drink up.
July 4, 2018 - Disclaimer...this was the fourth bottle of Turley zin with friends for the 4th...maybe a bit of “zin fatigue”. Did not decant, color was a nice deep purple. Did not get much on the nose. Flavors were well integrated...ripe plum, light pepper, blackberry. By the time we got to this too much smoked meat to really taste the wine...sorry.
March 6, 2017 - Seems a bit simple. Nice acidity, and bright fruits, but not getting a lot of complexity. Easy drinking though.
