March 13, 2020 - Almost an exact year on from the drinking of the first bottle, I would repeat the words I used to describe that experience today. Full-bodied, meaty, dense and concentrated. You could put it up against many a more expensive Napa cab and it would not shrink from them.

July 14, 2019 - balanced new world style, dark fruits, cassis, good tannins and acid, pleasant finish

July 7, 2019 - Consumed over three evenings (VV'd and refrigerated during the nights). Did not improve with time. I've liked this better in the past. Drink up.

March 17, 2019 - Whilst Dulcie may have grimaced at the somewhat austere, aging Bordeaux, her face lit up when confronted with this entirely different animal. I liked this a lot too, but I also appreciate Bordeaux. The Casarena comes with a lot more forward content: dense, ripe fruit, but structure and grip, and a piercing vibrance on the palate. Long length and chewable. Good wine.

April 22, 2018 - I schlepped this bottle to the top of our local mountain for a birthday party at a Catskills lean-to, and it was quite nice, albeit consumed from paper cups. Smooth and soft but with a nice dark fruit profile. Much improved from the last samplings a couple of years back, and an excellent QPR.
