August 23, 2020 - Having found a good deal deal on this locally, I checked in on my only bottle to see if I should purchase more. Decanted an hour. Black licorice, tar, smokey black fruit on the nose, with a floral note that emerges with more time open. On the palate, black fruit and licorice. Very smooth mouthfeel, with moderate tannins. Much better paired with food than alone. My wife really enjoyed this. I liked it but found it, perhaps not surprisingly, very different at this stage than the 2000 which I love. Decided to purchase a half case to see how it ages.

July 20, 2020 - Dark garnet color turning orange rust at the rim with a transparent edge. Legs indicate viscosity that’s apt for the vintage. High octane notes of black fruits, cola and smoke. The palate is ultra ripe with a velvety texture, but enough acidity to carry the blueberry, plum, kirsch, flavors with a bit of underbrush and lavender tones. The alcohol is a bit overwhelming which coats the palate all throughout, but aides in the otherwise medium finish with hints of herbs de Provence. Drink now until 2032.

June 14, 2020 - No formal notes but don’t think it’s as rich and voluptous as the 2010 version..

March 30, 2020 - Blackberry and strawberry on the nose. On the palate, blackberry, black cherry, plum, and notes of black pepper and savory herbs on the medium to long finish, with light tannins and moderate acidity. This is richer and jammier than other vintages I have tried, and although my wife loved it it's less appealing to me. Even so, it's well made, and a good value at about $70. The Cellartracker drinking window looks about right, although given the moderate acidity I wonder whether it might start to fall apart in five years or so.

January 12, 2020 - Expressive nose displaying ripe concentrated black fruit, blackberry jam, chambord, fruitcake, licorice, baking spices, garrigue, tobacco and mineral. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated ripe black fruit, dense yet silky, good acidity and mineral, nicely integrated tannins and a long sweet black fruit driven finish with tapenade and garrigue at the end. This is a classic but concentrated CDP.
