September 28, 2019 - A very pleasant surprise. Not a well reviewed vintage but Pegau brought it home. And despite it being in its potentially “quiet” phase at 7 years old, this was a delight. Pretty big legs, mid ruby in color, with such a lovey nose of black red fruit. Blueberry, and some sweetness of a touch of vanilla but very subtle. Nice smooth tannins, and some pretty meaty taste. A touch of barnyard even. Very CNDP and for the price it shows again what great value this region offers when you buy the right producer.

September 20, 2019 - Similar to my last note but I didn't pour it out this time. So different than other CdPs as they don't have the funk that this had. Everyone thought this was much older than it was. I took a risk and bought some 2016 recently and hope I don't have the same experience as with the 2012s.

July 26, 2019 - First try out of Coravin: Inky ruby. Clear wet barnyard nose in the first instance, then fruit. Drying tannins, could use more body. Medium length.

Out of bottle, with ~15 min time: Wet barnyard gone, dense meaty nose to the fore. Soft, sweet dark fruit, fuller body. Slightly grippy finish. Medium length.

June 3, 2019 - Medium ruby in the glass. Clean nose with a good balance of fruit and oak - cherry, strawberry, blackberry, licorice, chocolate and vanilla. Some bottle aging as well, not too pronounced. High intensity on the palate with every element bursting in your face - acidity, alcohol, fruit and tannins. The alcohol tends to stick out a bit, especially approaching the finish, covering the acidity and restricting the wine's liveliness. Not the best CdP I've tasted, would go with other producers for the price.

May 27, 2019 - From a 500ml, splash decanted then drank an hour later.

Barnyard nose, with a little heat. On the palate: meaty, dark fruit, a touch of liquorice, smooth but quite drying tannin leading to a moderate+ finish. But overall quite a light, almost thin, feel to it.

EDIT: to be fair, towards the end of the bottle, about 2.5 hours after decanting, the feel is rather fuller and more robust; I've upped my rating a point. So I recommend decanting this for at least a couple of hours, maybe more.
