April 13, 2019 - Popped and poured (which maybe was not a good idea).
On the nose: Cherry, meat, spice box, licorice, tobacco. Sweet and a touch of heat.
Full body, and slightly grippy tannins, still being resolved. The wine finishes medium+ to long.
Not the best Pegau I've tasted; this bottle was a little heavy on the mouth - but I imagine this is probably still a few years too young. 91-92 pts.

April 9, 2019 - Classic traditional CNDP, and already drinking well. Rustic, meaty barnyard nose on first draft, with then some sweetish red fruit on the nose. Surprizingly light pallete, with already quite nicely integrated tannins, which surprised me considering its still relatively young. It is yet to hit that infamous sleeping phaze, so will keep trying it from here on in - unless it does close down. Really enjoyed what is meant to be a mediocre year: shows what a good producer is worth following whatever the vintage.

April 7, 2019 - Typical Pegau with a good dose of brett, but the fruit is ripe, chewy, macerated, and not overblown. A touch of licorice, amaro gives this a savory/bitter note wrapped in a lush black cherry syrup. Like a bacon wrapped date. Really good, like this vintage of Pegau. Green Street Tavern with EWG

January 6, 2019 - Flawed. Badly corked. Been having a bad run lately on corked French wines.

January 5, 2019 - 90 minute decant. Deep ruby. Meaty, smokey, grilled herbs, leather, with a core of ripe red and black fruit (nose reminded me of a felsina ccr). Great mouthfeel, concentrated medium body with good grip and the slightest ripeness coming through the savory flavors. Drinking great tonight with a rack of venison with herbal crust, but definitely has the balance and stuffing to drink well on many more nights to come.
