December 27, 2023 - Very precise, mineral, drinking perfectly at age 12. Effortlessly impressive. Reignots at its very best.

February 11, 2023 - Considerably better than the last bottle. Proves that it was clearly flawed.

December 9, 2022 - Birthday Celebration (Racquet Club - Chicago IL): Drinkable but slightly oxidized, so possibly heat damaged at some point. Previous bottles tasted in 2018 and 2019 were much better.

December 8, 2022 - Very enjoyable, but this bottle seemed a bit advanced and slightly stewed.

March 9, 2022 - Bottle 1581/2936. Initially a tiny bit disjoint but that settled and synced perfectly after 30 mins of pulling the cork. It is a lean Reignots compared to other vintages but it’s not a green one. It’s lighter, less sweet and a bit more astringent. But that’s just a fair representation of the vintage. It manages to sneak in that sweet cherry fruit and oak kiss that’s so a la Louis-Michel. The result is a fascinating sweet/sour interplay of the finest sort. Extremely drinkable... also so a la Louis-Michel. I probably would look to pull corks now and over the next decade.

January 11, 2022 - Bottle 1577/2936: Louis-Michel handled 11 very well based on my experience with his Vosne village Colombiere and Clos Chateau. So it felt opportune to check in on the Reignots. It’s a classic CLB Reignots but all turned down slightly vs other stronger vintages. Lovely cherry, sweet oak and baking spice on the nose, the wine is light on the palate with low alcohol, superb freshness and balance, mineral tingling, slightly citric (though not not green). It’s a very logical slight step above the great village 11s I had recently. Interestingly and somewhat unexpectedly with an hour or two being opened the bottle starts miraculously to gain some more fat and sap. While it doesn’t rank among the best Reignots clearly I admire this wine as a result of the challenging growing season. I don’t think I would age those for ever so I think drink now-2030. Starts out 93 but with air touches 95+ comfortably in my book. Suggest to pull the cork an hour before serving and slow ox to get closer to sweet spot drinking.

July 1, 2019 - Dinner at Ma Cuisine (Ma Cuisine - Beaune): So much red cherry and berry with very impressive near-Grand Cru density and an enticing level of complexity. Slightly better tonight vs another bottle from the same restaurant exactly one year ago. Still a little firm and backward with a bitter hint on the finish that needs to resolve.
