August 20, 2023 - Moving the cellar and found this pleasant surprise. Been in a 56 degree cellar so in wonderful shape. We’ve been buying Peay for years and are fans of their light touch, age ability and true-to-terroir character.
PNP, pale rose on the edge, lovely and immediately expressive nose. Lovely acidity, nice lighter, red-leaning fruit, a bit of rose and herb. But mostly just a nice, flavorful and lovely CA Pinot in a nice drinking window. If I had more I wouldn’t feel rushed.
Just bought a bunch of their 2021s which are supposedly amazing. They may outlive me! -

Relatively young, with an exploding bouquet of red fruit, rose-floral notes, leather, and baking spices. Juicy and sleek, with years to go, but definitely ready to be enjoyed. Just plain yummy.
