December 7, 2015 - Hugely skeptical of this and opened more out of curiosity than thirst or excitement (also: trying not to deplete a friend's modest under-counter wine fridge of any cherries.) If cherry-avoidance is the goal then this is a 95+ pointer; certainly no one would long miss this out of their cellar. But you'll notice that I haven't indicated any glaring flaw or that we poured it all down the drain. Indeed, the damn thing's drinkable at this stage, if pretty hollowed out and clearly wanting for some acid lift (that vintage signature surely did this wine no favors.) But the fruit's still hanging on and the oak has less of a stranglehold than I would have supposed. Don't get me wrong, it's not good wine; it's just surprisingly inoffensive given the combo of vintage and producer.

January 12, 2010 - Just a tiny hint of raisin in the nose. Needed about an hour to open up. Then, more vanilla in the nose and taste. After appreciating it all evening, I have to say it falls far short of the 2004. Ultimately a little one dimensional. It's certainly no a low-quality wine, but I'm not disappointed I only had one bottle.

April 28, 2007 - A little musty on the nose with a woody dusty flavor. Fruity and on the whole soft and enjoyable but nothing that would make me rush out to buy more.

March 19, 2007 - Clear, medium, ruby red color. Clean, youthful, medium intensity nose of black fruit (black cherry & blackberry), pepper, with some oaky aromas. Dry, medium(+) acid, medium tannins on this medium(+) bodied wine. The alcohol level seems to be a touch below medium, with the wine having more of a mouth presence from the tannins than from alcohol. Medium(+) intensity flavors of black fruit with some of that spice. The finish is medium(+) -- there is a little heat showing through on the finish, otherwise this would be a few ticks higher. Good quality wine.

February 24, 2006 - Bought off the list at Socca. Generally an uninteresting wine. Good doses of red fruit, but not much else. No gripping acidity or tannins.
