July 17, 2021 - Prior bottle was 13 months ago and this wine continues to show well. Honey and nuts on the nose initially, but the longer it was open the more apricot/tropical notes began to dominate. Between medium and full bodied with prominent apricot upfront, adding peach and pineapple through the middle. It isn't really sweet at all until the far backside. Then it starts to bring in some of the honey and nut notes, balanced with nice acidity. Continues to drink well at almost age 10 and should be able to continue so long as the fruit notes and sweeter qualities can maintain their current balance.

June 7, 2020 - Prior bottle was just over 13 months ago and the has come together nicely in that time. Nose was predominantly peach/tropical now with the nutty/honey notes on the background. Between medium and full bodied and like my prior bottle, continued to show improved integration. The golden peach and mixed tropical notes were blended quite well with the richer honey and nutty notes through the middle and in the back. But the fruit felt more expressive, less constrained and more in balance with the structural notes. The "complete" wine I was looking for last time around is being realized. Drinking quite well now and I may open my last bottle later this year to take advantage of the window.

May 4, 2019 - Prior bottle was again just a bit over a year ago and this wine continues to evolve in a positive direction. Initially, pineapple/tropical notes on the nose, but the longer it was open, the more the nutty/honey notes took over aromatically. Remains between medium and full bodied, but the integration and balance were better than the prior bottle and the overall key. This wine has a nutty/honey side and pineapple/peach and tropical side. Depending on the serving temperature and the particular bottle, these components have either worked really well together or fought each other the entire time. Tonight, they seemed much better integrated. The tropical notes of pineapple and mango along with golden peach are upfront. Behind are the honey and nutty qualities. Coupled with the acidity, this time, all the elements came together withe the resulting wine showing completeness: tropical notes, cut by nuts, honey and acidity and then rounded out and gliding into and through the finish. Hopefully, this trend will continue and I plan to open my next bottle in Q2 2020.

April 27, 2018 - Prior bottle was just over a year ago. Tonight, it was very much a two-faced story. In general, the wine was a mix of pretty tropical fruit and more honeyed, sauternes style. On the nose, very strong nutty, honeyed notes, paired with a much prettier orange/pineapple, mango mix. In between medium and full bodied and retains the strong tropical fruit notes upfront, but as opposed to last time (where the two half were better blended) there seemed to be a much sharper dividing line this time. The honey and nut notes, along with the tannins towards the back stood out a bit more than they did previously. The longer it was open however, the more this seemed to fade. This wine seems to have two potential futures: (i) the two main components could fall further and further apart, leading to a more disjointed, slowly fading wine or (ii) the tropical and the honey continue to come together as the structure helps it to integrate nicely as you end up with a wine of sweetness, depth and character. I'll try my next bottle in early 2019 and that should give me a good read.

April 22, 2017 - Prior bottle was nine months ago and between the time in cellar and serving it chilled as opposed to cold, it nearly fully recaptured my impressions from the winery tasting in April 2016. Tropical notes are much more prevalent on the nose this time along with honey, spices and a nutty note. Between medium and full bodied (14% ABV), but considerably better balance than the prior bottle. Starts off with intensely tropical notes (pineapple, mango, tangerine and others), blending with honey, spice and even some tart notes towards the back. Considerably more complexity than the prior bottle, even taking into account the fact that the back 30% of the wine is somewhat solid still and not yet fully revealing. This wine has many years in front of it and I might save my next bottle until Summer 2018.
