December 9, 2016 - A delight. Came together with a 25 min decant. Nice cranberry/cherry like tart on the front end followed by candied strawberries in the mid palette, medium length finish. The huge contrast between the two made this wine interested. Medium to light body, smooth specially after the decant yet it remained sharp, a lot of finesse and delicate intensity, can probably be cellared some more. A true pinot. Great wine & QPR for the $28 I paid.

February 21, 2016 - This wine has turned into an elegant example of a New World Pinot Noir. The nose shows subtle ripe red fruit, earth, and complex wood/smoke aromas -- similar on the palate, the taste is elegant ripe cherry fruit, earth and hint of smoke. Acidity is low and the finish is clean. If you are a Burgundy lover this wine breaks the preconception that California Pinots are fruit bombs. This wine is at its peak and should be drunk soon. 92++

June 12, 2013 - Beautiful dark (for a Pinot) ruby red with nice slow legs signaling the drinker that they are in for a treat. Bold nose but not of fruit but of leather, spice, oak and just a hint of smoke. Somewhat of a mineral (slate) presence on the front of the palate with distinct tartness of cranberry on the back of the palate. The tart, leather finish continues for some time making for a nice slow-drinking elegant wine. If you like a lot of fruit in your Pinots then this won't be a wine for you. But if you like a complex, dry Pinot that is an open window to its soil and growing conditions, you will love it. This will probably continue to develop and drink for another few years. I will wait until 2014 to drink another (assuming I can wait).
