October 12, 2023 - 2011 Burgs (Noize): Apparently the Felettigs started to improve their winemaking around 2009, and you can tell this isn't quite the finished article as it was noticeable clumsier than the younger wines I've tried. A little muddled on the nose, especially at first, although it did pull itself together with time in the glass. Dense red fruit on the palate, and surprisingly tannic, although it did soften. More suitable for drinking with hearty food - luckily we had some.

September 9, 2023 - Nose bursts forth with black cherry, raspberry, forest floor, licorice and baking spices. After some time in the glass mushroom, animale and miso soy notes become apparent. Palate is brimming with red fruits: sour cherry, raspberry and some strawberry and a liner minerality. Also present are additional notes of forest floor, some cedar/vanilla notes and orange zest. Mid+ acidity and medium body with a long lasting finish that seems elegantly vacillate between red fruits and savory flavors. This will last another five years but is really starting to sing. Serve at 17C

January 8, 2023 - Pale ruby, medium intensity nose of raspberry, dried herbs, touch of cinnamon. Secondary flavor or smoke and some tertiary Forrest floor and wet stones. On palette is medium across the board, with the exception of acidity which is low. A fairly short finish, and complexity was medium. Interesting when I tried this in 2015 I LOVED IT, and found some lovely floral notes. Not this time I am wondering if I really prefer my Burgundy on the younger side, as this was a little disappointing cs expectations.

May 23, 2020 - Zoom blind tasting #6: Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée (At home during circuit breaker): Very yummy, and drinking nicely now. Starting out a bit funky, this showed some earthy, barnyard and sous bois inflections on the nose, before lifting a bit to reveal a sweeter undertow of red fruits and fragrant spice, maybe a hint of dried roses. With time, the funkier notes receded into the background, and some plummier notes start coming out. The palate had that same warm, generous tone to it, with tingly little bits of peppery spice liberally sprinkled over a deep mouthful of sweet dark cherries and blueberries, this time riding on a slightly savoury bed of earthy mineral. Quite a masculine expression of Chambolle-Musigny in terms of its flavours, and the sinewy power it had, but there was always a nice ease and elegance about the way the wine unfolded in the mouth on a chew of very fine tannins and nicely-integrated tannins. Nice finish too, with more of that warm spice rising to meet the wine’s mineral core. With a bit of time, a little hint of violets started coming out as well. This is starting to drink nicely now and giving a lot of pleasure.

December 27, 2018 - Medium crimson, subtle nose of cherry, rhubarb, hints of brown sugar and forest floor, tight and fruit forward on the attack with red fruit, black fruit, spice and juicy acidity on the mid-palate, finish is a little hot with ripe red fruit, teethy tannins, linger acidity and hints of complexity to come
Note: 91 for now, it will certainly benefit for another three to four years in the cellar

12/20 update: pushing 92+, is really in an excellent place, perfectly balanced acidity with just-starting-to-mature fruit, outstanding and considering the 2015 price, a steal

July 22, 2017 - Light, ethereal, pretty. Not showing tremendous depth or complexity but very pretty and high on the glou-factor. A welcome relief for this tired palate after a rough patch with red wines lately.

May 11, 2015 - Really nice after pop and pour, offering floral, smoky aromatics and a ripe yet elegant palate of red and dark fruits, mineral, spice and oak. After about an hour in the decanter, the oak became a bit prominent on the finish. This could use some time to integrate and shed it's baby fat. Despite this, the wine still displayed good purity and maintained a seamless, middleweight mouthfeel.

April 26, 2015 - Wow. Lovely stuff, and very enjoyable even right now, so can only imagine how good it will be in time. Lovely Chambolle subtlety - fresh red fruit, with floral nose mixed with some nice mineral palette. Could also smell chocolate in there. Lots going on (and all good). Nose really is special, especially when served cool. Amazing how it changed over time, and when exposed to some warmth and sunshine it shifted to notes of cedar and smokiness. Have stocked up on this following a single bottle as it does seem like a steel right now - and would imagine prices rising for this producer in the next few years. My advise: buy some!

February 9, 2015 - A top notch Chambolle 1st cru at a steal from an extremely small premier cru vineyard next to Feusselottes. Absolutely no green flavors but a wine with intense and complex aroma of ripe black cherries, with subtle flavors of plums and currants. Full-bodied with very good structure, focus and length. This is a serious wine that should develop with impressive complexity but delicious today.
