March 12, 2021 - Lots of sediment on this bottle. Fully integrated, a perfectly pleasant cab franc that probably has nowhere else to go. Drink now.

March 3, 2019 - A lovely Cab Franc, that has good oak and nice cherry like flavours.

April 27, 2018 - Benefits from a nice long decant. Even better the next day. Blackberry, blueberry, menthol, herbs, smoke, tobacco, and a little bell pepper on the nose. Juicy blackberry, earth, herbs, licorice, tart cherry, and oak on the palate. Decent acidity, integrated tannins, long-ish slightly bitter finish. It’s fairly rich, modern, and delicious. If the mid-palate fleshes out a bit, it might gain another point.

April 22, 2018 - Good nose, initial flavor pleasant however a bit astringent. Not sure how/when/if this will improve.

October 22, 2015 - Double decanted and left for about 45 minutes. Notes pretty similar to last time. On the nose: lots of blackberries, blueberries and some toast together with a hint of green pepper. Showed more pepperiness on the palate than last time; still rather rich with a nice long finish.

Evidently I didn't read the end of my note about not touching this one for a while...it hasn't evolved very much from last time.

December 18, 2014 - I wanted something that wasn't going to require a lot of ``prep" to drink, but that was also not boring. After some thought, I settled on this. Decanted.

Immediately after decant: on the nose, this starts out with bluberries and chocolate, but just behind that are nice layers of graphite, dark candied cherries, and a hint of green. Nice mix. I don't get much pepperiness on the nose. On the palate I saw good juiciness and a bit of oak treatment, but it wasn't over the top. There finish is fairly tannic and there is definitely some alcohol present there.

After a couple of hours being open, the nose shows more oak influence with caramel and toast notes, as if it was just hidden at first. I think the 2010 incarnation of this wine saw no new oak, but from what I gathered, this version apparently did. The oak is also present on the palate and in some astringence on the finish. All that aside, I was just looking for a bit more, I don't know, ``umami" on the palate, which I perceived as just a little thinner than I wanted...maybe it was just my mood. Otherwise, good wine and drinking well.

Update: Three days later, this is much better than it was on Day 1. The nose has more cab franc varietal character and the oak is again in the background. Nice spicy green pepper notes. Seems like a good idea not to touch this one a for a while.
