Community Tasting Notes 7

February 6, 2015 - We originally tasted this wine at a large and wonderful tasting of chardonnays from around the world. This was one we bought because at its $23 price, it was just below the quality of the best chardonnays costing twice as much. Fine aromas of flowers and lemon, followed by a bright and penetrating taste with lemon citrus, refreshing acidity, no vanilla sweetness, and a long aftertaste. At 7 years old, there is no discernible butterscotch, indicating how well this wine is still aging.

September 27, 2012 - Notes done on tasting a day after opening. Seemed to have lost some complexity but still good. Nice butterscotch nose. Some spice in front with just a bit of creaminess, then finishes with tart grapefruit. A bit bright, but I like the style and a good wine at this price.

July 19, 2012 - The big smoke in a good way. Powerful drinking stuff. Works at $25. Apperently no malo, which I kinda feel. Smokes with acidity on the back end. Even though low new wood lots of smoke on the nose. Too much smoke in this tasting note.

March 13, 2012 - Clear lemon yellow color of medium intensity, Nose dominated by vanilla oak, apple and citrus. Palate had pears, citrus and gooseberries. Nicely balanced with medium acid. This wine was a nice medium finish.

February 21, 2012 - Tasting room, 2/21. Expressive aromas- honey, wild oats, butterscotch, slate and stone fruit. Creamy and rich on the palate with added notes of citrus and hints of butterscotch. Balanced acid and spice along a medium finish.
