February 19, 2024 - A splendid wine at this age. Loads of fruit, mostly of the dried and overripe "dark" stone variety, but nothing too jammy. It smarts of spice and herb--black pepper, some baking spices, bay leaf, maybe even cardamom? Beautiful wrinkly black olive on the finish, along with oil/animal fat and something slightly bitter and mineral-y...graphite? GUNPOWDER?

Some other reviewers want to age this another 5 years--but this is already plenty tart for my taste, and the sediment is building up voluminously. Pushing it further may balance the tracks, but I like the combination of heavy bass and loud, syrup-y vocals (so to speak) that this shows now.

January 28, 2024 - Was honestly expecting a bit more from this bottle. Good notes of black fruits, pepper, and earth, but I felt it was lacking depth and length.

January 26, 2024 - January 2024 Northern Rhone Dinner: This showed really well and it struck a nice median between the bright, red-fruited ‘11 Cordeloux and the massive ‘94 LaLas. A touch darker than the Cordeloux, with a bit more meaty smokiness, but open for business and a pleasure to drink.

December 14, 2023 - A bit closed in when first opened. Very shallow, but then about 1 hour later really opened up and was quite nice. Definitely decant 1 hour before dipping in.

October 28, 2023 - ripe and getting there, but not quite fully mature I think...

dried and cooked black fruits, cassis, a little vanilla and oak spice, some tapenade, cured meat and pepper... thick and rich on the palate, tannins are fine but grip still, acid is bright, oak comes through on the finish more than on the nose, spicy and tangy, needs food.... should continue nicely for another 5 to 10 years

September 3, 2023 - Another strong showing after a two hr decant. Though always a nod to the modern side, at age 12 - this really has the overall impression and feel of a well made, classic Cornas. Perhaps the cooler vintage is at play, but this delivers a most enjoyable mix of smoky blackberries, touches of saline and or blood and a really smart citrus streak throughout. I concur with the general trend on CT that this is still on a upward trajectory but not one that needs another 10 or 15 years to be at apex. Excellent

July 24, 2023 - Quite nice, floral notes on nose, with that olive brine and tannins on finish. Great with grilled ribeyes. Give it 1 hr of air. I’m sure better in a few years but don’t see 2011s going longterm
