August 6, 2015 - Light for a zin. Not a lot of spice like some have. A little jammy and easy drinking.

November 19, 2014 - PnP for #zinday, had with chicken cutlet what to think about this wine. Dark fruit, fruit forward style. Maybe some stewed plum. Some not unpleasant yet prominent toasty oak...Simple not too nuanced but pretty good. A little bit of alcohol on the short finish knocks it down a bit 86-87 point range, call it an 87 as I'm in a Zin lovin' mood.

Decent QPR at a little over $10.39, and a wine that would probably please at parties...

June 1, 2014 - Great zin for the money. Fairly big, a bit harsh, yet much better than many seemingly light and thin wines at this price point.

April 20, 2014 - Has plenty of those flavor characteristics we associate with Old Vine Zin. There is blackberry jam with black licorice and black tea. It is only medium plus bodied. The color is rich dark purple. Not jammy and actually fairly exotic for a wine around $10. There are some gritty little skin tannins. As we let it settle down the palate, there is some prune juice with black licorice meets mellow oak and charcoal. Having trouble using word to describe the flavors, but generally speaking, the bottle age has evolved the flavors to a mature, slightly fading fruit, but still very interesting, and somewhat unique roasted, or stewed fruit flavors as opposed to fresh. Gets better and changes with every sip.
