December 2, 2023 - Blackberries, rhubarb, plum, cinnamon and spice on the nose. Some leather and mushroom tertiary notes too. Palate has quite a bit of acid, opens up with some air. Lingering finish but not much fruit left. A little past it's prime to my taste but a nice wine. After a few hours it developed some brown sugar on the nose that was entirely unexpected

September 9, 2022 - In a stunning place at the moment. Waves of blackberries, cooked plum, tootsie roll, and spice. Lighter on the palate than I expected - was almost overpowered by tenderloin - but still has a faint juiciness that I loved. An unmistakable nose of dried sage and thyme. Brilliant stuff. Drink now, I don’t know if this will be this great for long.

August 22, 2020 - Drinking wonderfully now having developed all the more with age. The white pepper stepped out more than I remember a couple years back, threading through the rich brambly red fruit. Long satisfying finish.

July 22, 2018 - I wished I’d paid more attention to this wine as I tasted it. These notes are mere impressions, favorable ‘though they may be. 100% Zin. This is a wine that shows power and finesse. The throb of rhubarb is tempered by the sweetness of Zin fruitiness. Cinnamon and vanilla in spades on the finish. No sediment. Very much ready to drink just now but it can just as easily rest well for a number of years. 14.5% alc. With homemade pizza of pepperoni and mushroom. Recommended.

August 19, 2017 - 3rd Annual 7 Deadly Zins - Reprise (about 14 this time) (Wayne's place in Darlinghurst): From Coravin. Biscuit, ripe plum, muted spice, slight vanilla,. On the palate it's juicy with red plum, taut tannins and feels almost off dry, spicy as well. With time it softens and broadens. Nice

June 4, 2017 - 3rd Annual 7 Deadly Zins (well, about 15 this time) (Wayne's place in Darlinghurst): From Coravin. Medium plus intensity aromas of black fruits, plums; almost prunes in face, and cherry, chocolate and spice. It smells broad and so it proves on the palate but still with juicy acidic freshness, black cherry and berry and chocolate. Yum.

November 3, 2016 - Black and blue fruit, exotic spices, and licorice frame the nose. Full bodied, juicy, and pliant, with dried red fruit, hibiscus, and plum flavors that flesh out nicely across the palate and through the long finish. Velvety, savory, and genuine. Ridge stays true to the game.

December 3, 2014 - Aromas of dark berries and dry hay. Medium to full body and really juicy. High delicious factor with ripe red raspberry flavor. Bright and lively from start to finish. Tastes genuine and not manipulated. Smooth and soft finish.
