July 6, 2023 - Beguiling. Massive but elegant, smooth but powerful. There is a mineral purity that holds back the black fruit and cherry that is attempting to break through. It coats your mouth and imprints your palate. You want to drink it all now but I suspect it will mature and potentially reach a whole other level. Not sure I can wait.

September 8, 2022 - Deep color, Nose of deep, dark fruit, same on tongue with ameliorated smooth tannins. Balanced, full bodied, long long finish. Very enjoyable.

July 24, 2021 - Black cherry rim leading to a pitch black heart. Swirling just coats the glass. Bottomless dark nose of beechnut, blackberry syrup, black cherry, cured olive, dark chocolate and charred cherrywood. Uber full bodied, thick and unctuous on the palate. Powerful gobs of rich, ripe, black fruit but silky smooth. There is lots of supporting structure there as well in the acid, alcohol and tannin but they perfectly frame the lush fruit, which is what its all about. Nothing tame, subtle or half-way about this wine. It is big, bold and exotic but oh so perfectly balanced, sleek and delicious! The mouth-coating finish tails off forever and leaves a bit of an acid/alcohol/tannic pinch on the tongue. Stupid good!!! 97 points tonight with parmesan, walnuts and dark chocolate!

February 14, 2021 - I found it uninteresting 4 years ago. It has improved a bit since then but still I’m not impressed. Deep bitter cherry (Amarone indeed) but not much more. Again, nothing wrong just I like other Amarones much better.

December 25, 2020 - Nez sucré. Vin assez costaud sur les épices, fruits noir et tabac. Long en bouche. Décanté 4h. Petit côté porto par son sucre, son degré alcool et sa lourdeur.

December 3, 2020 - Concentrated black raspberry fruit with distinct notes of tobacco, black tea and spice. Must decant for 45+ minutes for it to fully open up but once it does you have a beautiful drinking Amarone.

November 20, 2020 - On the nose the wine is showing vibrant notes of raspberry, rhubarb and some subtle oak. The palate is bone dry with some unresolved tannin that needs time to integrate a bit more. The acidity gives the wine a great perceived sweetness that balances out the heat in the background. A lovely wine that will benifit greatly from another 7-10 years of cellaring.

December 23, 2019 - Dark fruit, cocoa dusted raisins, spiced floral/potpourri, pencil/graphite, balsamic. Palate is similar, most notable is the dark fruit, graphite, toasty oak into the finish. Very lush, integrated, velvety texture. Tannins were very subtle at 12 years old.

Paired okay with a lasagne like pasta bake with mild sausage.
