November 13, 2020 - Dark cherry, plum, dried figs, and sun dried tomatoes mixed with lots of violets and roses. All the classic Montalcino notes of sweet sandalwood incense, cedar, tar, tobacco, and, smoke, and grilled herbs are there, but I especially love the strong mineral current that runs through this wine. Also, it has life to it. I found so many Brunellos to be rich and opulent, but also drab and dull. This one really sings and it it continues to sing along with food. Very drying and chewy in the mouth in a good way. The memory of the wine lingers long after you finish the last sip. By far the most satisfying Brunello out of the bunch that I tried recently. This is very good, but there’s just a touch too much of vanilla oak on day 2 and sweet candied cherries, which, to me, prevent it from reaching the highest echelon. Seemed to be in a good spot now, but probably also has some life left. Too bad, there’s no new vintages of Cerbaiona to be had.

November 21, 2019 - Beautiful bottle, still young but after an hour or so decanting, it starts singing.

November 14, 2019 - November Rain @ My Place: 1st bottle - Great nose - black fruits, smoky, spices, peppers. Palate of black fruits, dark cherries, dried violets, tobacco, slight leather, with a nice long bitter espresso finish. Complex and rich. Needed some air - this kept improving through the night. Good stuff. Ok to open now but should improve with more time.

September 2, 2019 - Consistent with our previous tasting note from April. So consistent. So good. I'm probably still underrating this.
