February 24, 2024 - Licorice and wood on the noise. Less wood on the palate but unmistakable licorice notes, as well as chocolate. This was a bit disjointed on PnP but started to come together after 60-90 minutes in the decanter. Overall this was very nice, although it wasn’t as complex or layered as some of the best Brunellos I’ve had. 93+

February 11, 2024 - Rich, sweet, fruity. Light tannins. Not as “serious” as I prefer — a chocolate covered cherry personality — but good concentration and obviously very good wine. This bottle had a touch of VA. Guessed brunello at Osteria Mozza.

January 6, 2024 - I don’t remember having a better Brunello since the one time, I had a Soldera. Reddish Brown. Mature nose, overripe, dark berries, freshly turned soil, wet brick. Fresh and lively. Acidic. Soft, sofisticated and super pleasant in the mouth. Soft tannins which sneaks around the gums. Everything in the right place.

September 24, 2023 - Good to drink this with the new owner of Cerbaiona. It was lush and rich with licorice, herbs, dark fruit, and gravel. It had wonderful layers and depth but also ethereal.

August 4, 2022 - Excellent mature brunello. This is in a very good spot right now - fruit remains in place, smooth and rounded. Not drying.

July 13, 2022 - "Nick says ditto" (Chicago, IL): Better than the 2006 that I had a few months ago; this is pretty classic Cerbaiona with a slight herbal thing and also the smell of a brick oven on the nose here. The fruit is black and there's definitely a good bit of VA here, though it doesn't bother me too much. On the palate, this feels a little coarse thanks to the very young tannins, but there is still ample fruit so that I wouldn't be too concerned about aging this more. Some herbal tones that accentuate the rest of the wine as well.
