October 10, 2019 - Dark currant, blackberry, and black cherry fruit. Well balanced wine right now after 10 years. Has a silky texture to it with notes of leather, earth, tobacco, cedar, and mocha. Still has a nice tannin structure to it and good long finish. Can still go a few more years for sure.

March 1, 2019 - Need air and time. Decanted for four hours. Opens up with black currant and perhaps cherry. Long tannic finish with some bright acidity showing notes of dark chocolate, leather and some tobacco. Easily can be cellared for another 5 plus years IMO.

February 9, 2019 - Really disappointed. Flat. Kept waiting for it to open up.

December 15, 2018 - This was definitely delicious and still showing a nice burst of layered fruits. Bright cherry is interwoven with blackberry and currant and surrounded by fine oak, sandalwood, and tobacco. Palate is full and tannins are smooth and it has a medium plus finish. I think that I will wait a couple more years to open the next one as the savory characteristics are still developing.

July 16, 2017 - Whoa, big thick wine. Blackberry bomb here with intense fruit up front. Eventually reveals some notes of earth, leather, black pepper and toasty oak. Firm structure on this wine along with the tannins which are meaty. Still could use some time in the cellar.

October 16, 2016 - Typical California Cabernet with decent depth of flavor...and bright. Gave this 3 hours of air and believe it could have used even more. It smoothed out over the course of drinking.
This was very good and enjoyable though not particularly memorable. Not sure if it's, as commented earlier, past peak, or could use a few more years of rest to develop more complex flavors.
Be advised that there was a ton of sediment in the bottom of the bottle...it was like a debris field down there.

September 16, 2016 - Getting past peak. Sediment. Still not bad. Typical Oakville Cab. Maybe it's the alcohol talking, but it got better as we got closer to the end of the bottle. Might need to check out the '08 and '10 soon.

July 11, 2016 - I was afraid that this was the last bottle of this....and oh mama what a wine that was uncorked tonight! This Heidi Barrett masterpiece is coming of age....well, almost at least. This wine was quite a bit muted at first, showing a LOT of oak on the nose, front, and finish, but this quickly changed with about 15 minutes of time in the glass. The nose is classic Oakville cab. Blackberry, leather and oak. The entry has good acidity, oak and blackberry cassis. Full bodied mouthfeel. The middle of the wine is where this one turns a little darker. A hint of black licorice but mostly a dark blackberry expression with building black pepper. The last 50ml had quite a bit of sediment. Oh mama what a wine. Wish I had a few more of these, but this is my last bottle!! On to the 10's!

April 10, 2016 - Another solid bottle from Paradigm that was thoroughly enjoyed by the group. Decanted for about 90 minutes prior to the first glasses. Seemed to lack the depth and complexity of several other years. Having tasted the 2012 within the last week, this bottle was vastly different and not nearly as good.

March 22, 2016 - Needs an hour of air to open up but drinking well once it does.
