October 27, 2019 - Fresh out of the bottle - rich, delicious fruit (denser than I expected), gorgeous acidity, sweet spicy nose. Very enjoyable with burger. 6 hours later, out of the fridge - still a lot of fruit, but the acidity was more prominent. The next day, a backbone of minerality (not really a word!) with slender fruit gave it a bit more character; but it was more fun the first evening. A very good value and a fun wine.

October 17, 2019 - Opened yesterday, had a half a glass and put back into fridge. 2nd day review. Bottle being open for 3 hours and in my glass for an hour. Slightly orange around the edges. A very good atypical Vosne nose. If I could go back in time I would have bought another 6 bottles. Not to much red fruits left. A rich, thick wine on the sweeter side.Slight bitter black tea oak finish that makes me think this won't get any better. Seems to be slightly less alcohol which I think is dues to the vintage if I remember correctly. I like it ! A good midweek drinker.

    July 14, 2019 - 2011 Jean Tardy Vosne-Romanee “Vigneux”

Considerably more evolved than in the fall, and showing more truly to its appellation. This is somewhat rustic, but also dense, and layered. While I like it very much, could see it not being everyone’s cup of tea. Speaking of tea, there are ample black tea notes on the finish here. This is good now, and I expect it will be better with time.

In the bigger picture, I think 2011 is underrated, but I also understand why some don’t prefer it. There can be a lot of acidity in these wines, they’re not particularly accessible in their youth. It lacks the ripeness that seems to draw the big numbers from reviewers. But so far I find myself liking it much as I have several other “lesser” vintages.

December 19, 2018 - PnP, consumed in a zalto burg. Improved over the course of several hours.

This wine is in a pleasing state of freshness with some evident early secondary development. Ruby color is starting to show soft shades of brown at the edges. Bouquet is gentle and with impressions of cranberry and saddle leather. There is harmony between fruit and acidity on the midpalate. Tannins appear to be resolving and the resultant wine is ready to drink over the next 3 years. Nice showing for a village Vosne. It's a masculine expression, but a refined one for me. Good buy from Envoyer at $39
