March 5, 2022 - fruktig og flott vin. Nesten litt chambolle preg over den

January 30, 2022 - Perfumed nose. Deep ruby color. Medium body with flavors of cherry, blueberry, and strawberry. There is also an undercurrent of mushrooms and earth. The tannins and acidity are still pronounced, but the wine has a lovely balance and precision. This is barely in its drinking window and should be hitting its stride in 5 years with at least another 5 after that!

September 26, 2021 - Må ha vært uheldig med den første flasken for de siste har vært åpne og drukket veldig bra nå.

July 13, 2021 - Relativt lukket og noe kantete så den bør nok få noen år til

February 28, 2021 - Excellent red Burgundy that is starting to show - a little tight at first but opened up gradually with decanting. Medium bodied, good freshness, some structure but not very grippy at this stage. Some spice box and earth, but mostly it is nicely integrated complex black and red fruit. Has some shoulders, but not the most structured Gevrey 1er cru. I like this very much and it had enough oomph to match some beef tenderloin with baked potatoes and sauce bearnaise really well. Great with cheese platter as well (talleggio, gruyere, piave, and a Swedish Port Salut style cheese from Skärvången, Linus).

This was above all very balanced and well integrated but has not yet started to show real signs of maturity. I believe this can be opened and enjoyed already now but also that it has ten years + ahead of it with increasing complexity for those who enjoy secondary flavors and aromas in pinot noir more than the fruit.

(Domaine Pierre Gelin Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur) Very dark cherry red color; floral, roses, ripe cherry, raspberry nose; tasty, tight, ripe raspberry, tart cherry, mineral palate with lots of extract and sweet, firm tannins; needs 3-plus years; medium-plus finish (13.5% alcohol)
