February 11, 2024 - Super Bowl LVIII 2024 (Alpharetta, GA): Cellar Diving: Full disclosure... palate fatigue was in full effect at this point in the night. It is young and could benefit from 5+ more years of aging. Lots of minerality on the finish.

    February 1, 2024 - Garnet cerise.
Almost a honeyed-lebkuchen like, sweet, spiced, mineral nose, quite unique.
Mineral-acid palate with a very fine tannin and a youthful maturity and complexity to it, almost some tertiary elements superimposed on the primary, red cherry fruit character, Morello and spice, almost Jura-like, whilst very mineral. Will save half for tomorrow. An almost first fruits-type ripeness. Quite exquisite.

November 3, 2022 - Bright cerise, almost vermillion accent.
Literally on popping an OMG nose, nearly screamed in pleasure, fresh and ultra refined red berries, raspberries, cherries, cranberries, set off with rose and lilac florals plus spearmint and darker tarragon, background hints of sandalwood spice and confection and just a touch of actually quite refined Morey sauvage and dark earth. The nose is utterly unique, incredibly feminine and refined, yet at the same time gives of that very alive sous bois microcosm of complex scents.
The palate is weightless with an incredibly saline, mineral character, lacy textured, bright acidity, some citrus fruit but that’s about it. Something about the balance of this wine nears perfection, hedonistic pleasure but in a very refined type of way. Very glad I took the risk to open the Ponsot on this particular night.

March 20, 2022 - Word of advice: don't try to open post-'08 Ponsot's sealed with the space-age ArdeaSeal closures using an Ah-so. I did and it shattered the glass at the top of the neck while extracting. No injuries fortunately, but not pretty. The wine itself is pale ruby in color, with a bit of orange at the rim. Cherry, orange pith, spice and a touch of pyrazines (aka, "green meanies") on the nose. Elegant and smooth with moderate acidity and a clean finish. Better on day 3, where it rounded out and lost a bit of the greenness.

October 12, 2021 - Seamless and bright, but the fruit seems oxidized in a crustacean shell-like way, if that makes any sense. Still tasty, though not totally pleasurable.
