    August 4, 2019 - Oopsy - so much for waiting 3 to 5 years :) Excellent wine.

July 28, 2019 - I had this bottle a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Opened another one but didn’t have time for a long decant and found it very tight, herbal, hard to drink. So left it overnight and tried again on day 2 and in addition to the strong herbal flavors (which are not unpleasant in a balanced wine) there was an overwhelming wet fox/wet mouse smell that I hadn’t detected the night before. I am very tolerant of Brett/barnyard and I don’t mind unusual savory flavors in a wine, but this was indescribably bad. I think this is a flaw so perhaps it wasn’t present in the bottle I had a few months ago. But I won’t be opening my other two bottles for awhile—I’m still gagging when I think about it.

June 9, 2019 - Decanted 3 hrs. Good showing for this 13 year old Taurasi, chock full of the trademark cherry and iron traits I associate with Aglianico. As the tannins are still fairly prominent, I can only imagine what this tasted like young, had to be beast for sure. A little polish and gloss revela some nee oak was used, but its well integrated. All in all a very good wine and an even better value from JJ buckley for around $25 I think. My last bottle may sit 3 to 5 years to see where this ends up.

June 1, 2019 - Beautiful dark color, very herbal the nose —almost garrigue-like—basil and other herb components. Herbs with cherry on the palate. Integrated tannins and alcohol and drinking beautifully with food and without. Several hours decant

May 3, 2019 - Very enjoyable. Some bricking, good legs. Aroma of red fruit, leather, basil, and forest floor. Tart cherry, leather, bitter herb, and pepper on the palate, with a long finish. Nice mouthfeel, stout tannin, slightly chalky. Better with an hour decant.
