June 9, 2017 - Still massive tannins. Hold a few more years

November 24, 2013 - Somehow makes me think of grapes turned inside out - like all the stuffing was ripped out of them and fluffed up to try to make more than is really here - not enough left at the end of that

October 21, 2013 - Retailer tasting: The bouquet is still reticent. On the palate dark fruits and a good balance between acidity tannin and bitterness. The tannin is still quite drying. Good concentration. Nice wine. Wait a year or two.

October 7, 2013 - Popped and poured. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered a fruity nose of blackberry, blueberry, cherry, red currant, kirsch, some banana, mocha and spices. On the palate the wine showed blackberry, blueberry, cherry, kirsch, chocolate and spices, paired with medium-plus well-integrated acidity, high fine, chocolaty tannin and good length. I would guess that the winery partly used macération semi-carbonique (as indicated by the kirsch and banana aromas) to create this modern and accessible style of Aglianico. A medium- to full-bodied, balanced, well made wine with average complexity for every-day drinking. Drank well.

September 26, 2013 - Lots of juicy fruit with notes of smoke and herbs. Plush mouthfeel with adequate balance. Sourced off the list at Charlie Bird, NYC.
