October 2, 2020 - Still bright with Nebbiolo characteristics but I had to look up the varietal blend as I couldn’t place the rest. Lovely light and fresh with just the right amount of grip.
August 2, 2017 - Very similar to my last taste greater than 2 years ago. Medium garnet, cherries and earth on the nose and palate with a rich, juicy core. Great acidity frames this most enjoyable wine. Good showing for Le Piane's most affordable wine. Wish I had more of this!
August 1, 2015 - funky nose - VA, leather, spice, stewed fruit
light body, some tannin and a bit more funk. Cherry fruit. Def. volatile tang and some farmyard
Still very drinkable: alive and moreish.
Nebbiolo plus Croatina and some other grapes
May 13, 2015 - Color is medium garnet to the rim. Nose shows cherries, earth, and spice. On the palate, dark cherries meet still-present acidity and a sanguine note. Tannins present but not obtrusive. Juicy and enjoyable.
April 20, 2015 - 12.5% abv. Ruby, looks unfiltered. The Nebbiolo in the blend still comes through on the nose with tart raspberries and roses, but the blend and winemaking (shorter maceration, fermentation in stainless steel) has resulted in a lighter/rounder/fresher wine, very enjoyable young.
November 21, 2014 - From memory. Really nice, well-balanced, and typical nebbiolo blend. The primary asset is a fresh and full palate which reflects the grape, enjoyed with orange-mustard chicken thighs.
June 3, 2014 - Very heavy floral scent mixed with cherry and perfume. The taste is good, easydrinking relative conc acid at the end. Great with bread with olive oil and ham. This time a little more roughness in the end. Dekant a bit before.
June 29, 2013 - New Arrivals (121 BC, Sydney): leather, savoury plum, cherry, touches of green capsicum. In the mouth medium plus acid and tannin with savoury cherry to the fore. Simple but nice.
March 31, 2013 - easy drinking, light style, I like it but not in love with it.
