May 27, 2016 - There is pipe tobacco and vanilla caramel on the nose. The palate is more currant and fig with some leather and a bit of tar. The finish is sweet and lingering. Very good malbec. Clean and refined.

October 4, 2014 - The 2011 Casarena Reserva Malbec carries a rating of 91 points from Wine Spectator and 89 points with the CellarTracker community. I rate this wine 88 points. I won't offer any formal tasting notes, but at only $18 a bottle the quality-to-price ratio is strong. I would consider picking up this bottle again in the future.

July 26, 2014 - Nose of ripe and sweet dark fruits. Notable vanilla and cream aroma that was developed from oak barrel aging. The blackberry and dark plum in the mouth had certain power and depth. The finish has common Malbec-like bitterness. Overall was in balance style, not very muscular.

July 9, 2014 - There's some complexity here that I enjoyed. There's plenty of fruit, but there's a spicy back end that made this come together.

June 3, 2014 - Thoroughly enjoyed, dark fruit and flowers. Something aromatic is in there. Great QPR.
