December 24, 2023 - That kind of Wow bottle plunging you immediately into what is on offer. Sweet nose of ripe plums, vanilla, cedar, portwine, menthol, sweet spices. Already a pleasure to drink, but to further improve over the coming 5 years.

December 20, 2022 - Cork was in in good shape with minimal seepage of less than 1cm.
Poured into a decanter and the sediment stayed in the bottle stuck to the side that had been down.
Garnet red color shows some age.
The aromatics are a bit restrained.
It smells like raw beef, baked blueberries, cedar, and raspberries.
It's pretty balanced in the mouth with fruit, acidity, and velvety tannins.
Drink or Hold. It's in a secondary stage of development with some primary features.

December 10, 2021 - Popped and poured. Still very young. Deep, dark, opaque red. Meaty nose. Crisp acidity stands this in good stead for extended cellaring. Still, approachable in the mouth, even if a bit tannic and rustic, there is still nice fruit and a fine finish. Have with food if you are going to drink now. Otherwise, this should easily last another ten years if not more. Will try again tomorrow to see whether a bit of air opens it further.

Next night: Very fresh nose, pretty fruit. Black raspberry. Lovely mouth, too, spicy (cinnamon)? More open today, indeed quite expansive, but still quite primary. Very structured. Needs time to really shine. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.

December 13, 2020 - Very impressive, elegant and well structured Hermitage. Luscious ripe black berries, tobacco, wood notes, menthol and ink, forming a dense, complex wine built for at least another decade.

December 11, 2020 - Mixed bouquet of bright red and black raspberry fruit. Big wine with power but nice overall balance and nice finish. Fragrant and open when opened, but gained with air over 4 hours. Double decanted but only in the decanter 45 minutes. Fragrance and fruit are a strong recommendation; no hurry though.
