March 30, 2024 - Exceptionally smooth and mature. High tanins - opening to dark berries and leather notes after decanting. Holds up extremely well despite being past its “apogée”.

    March 17, 2024 - 2 hours of air plus 2 hour decant

This bottle was deeply resolved and mature. Nose of dark black fruit, graphite, smoke, and tobacco. Beautiful and relaxed palate, with nice lift and notes black fruit, earth and a smokey cigar box. Finish is long and powerful. Youthful or atleast unresolved, and beautifully dry.

    In the strike zone

February 7, 2024 - Standard, very good if perhaps generic aged Bordeaux. Wasn’t really asserting itself but was perfectly serviceable and tasty over a nice meal at Jean Georges.

December 25, 2023 - I don’t have much experience with Bordeaux this old so I was quite careful with it at first but it needed a lot of air. I started out with a slow ox but then ended up double decanting and aerating over four hours. Drank it with a rib roast and dauphinois potatoes. It was the perfect pairing. Dark cherry and cassis on the nose, palate was dark cherry, leather and some cigar spice. Really well structured, nice acidity and perfect amount of tannin for the beef. I would say it was probably a little past its peak, the earth/fruit ratio was probably 70/30, I can imagine a few years ago it would have been brighter. Still, it was a great bottle and I’m very happy to have been able to try it.

December 23, 2023 - This is great wine! Rich, deep, dark delicious black cherry/blackberry fruit with cassis flavors and cigar box, leather, and tobacco on the finish, excellent structure, very deep and complex wine, relatively young color, at 30 years of age this wine was a baby. I has at least 20 more years of peak performance.

December 10, 2023 - Did not have the opportunity to decant, but right off the bottle the wine made its presence known.
The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle.
It smells like leather, mushroom, rose, strawberry and raspberry.
It tastes like strawberry, raspberry, rose and honeysuckle. The body is medium. The wine has silky texture with a hint of fine receding tannins. The wine finishes long. The wine has low acidity. Its the perfect time to drink it.

December 10, 2023 - Nose of dried cherry, tobacco, damp earth, crushed leaves, and leather. Very nice.
Med+ body, med acid, med- tannin. This is wonderfully balanced at the moment. Fruit bursts through on the palate and it is texturally outstanding.
This is an amazing bottle of wine at the moment. Holding up very well and likely on a slow decline. Enjoy now and over the next 10+ years.

Superbe longueur finale.Tout à fait au niveau attendu.Tiendra encore 15 ans sans problème

November 24, 2023 - Nice bdx. Had this prior to the 90 Poyferre which blew it away. That said, I’ve also witnessed the 90 Poyf blow past the legendary Montrose. On this night the Cos was lovely and got better with an hour or so of air.

October 25, 2023 - On its way out on the evidence of this showing. Gave it a two hour decant and despite the encouraging nose, the wine came across as one dimensional. The fruit seems to be drying up to leave a rustic, earth dominated palate with only hints of what might have once been there.
