January 14, 2024 - Warm and tannic. Good fruit and balance but lacks finesse. Warm vintage

June 18, 2023 - Rich and sumptuous, showing the vintage. But still so good, balanced and pretty. Dark cherries and a savory edge of minerality. This is in a very good place, not sure if there is a ton of benefit to age this much longer.

January 21, 2023 - Drank great. Rich and complex with a long mid palate. Big cherry and very pure on the palate. Quality juice.

September 29, 2022 - Piemonte WIMPS (La Trompette, Chiswick, London): Colour is correct, nose shows red fruits with a touch of menthol. Medium bodied with fine slightly grainy tannins yet there's piercing acidity that somewhat overwhelms the otherwise delicious red fruits which are on the whole covering up the lick of oak which unfortunately morphs into coconut. Still, overall the wine seemed pretty good even if not quite my style.

January 31, 2022 - Elio Grasso delivers: this Barolo is in a great spot, strawberry, chewy tannins, leather note, plum, tobacco leaf, black currant, medium body, powerful long finish.

September 3, 2021 - Heute einfach super. Sehr modern. Burgundisch. Feine Frucht. Etwas Erdbeere aber immer noch ein Nebbiolo. Untypisch aber toll.

November 4, 2020 - Two bottles consumed with grilled pork tenderloin at my daughter’s husband’s family’s home. One bottle better than the other. Decanted at 5pm and consumed from 7-9pm. The first was slightly more tannic and less evolved than the other. The second was soft, perfumed with rose petals and cherries with great texture/mouthfeel. Not a seriously long lived wine but one that was really drinking well tonight and probably through the next several years. Score reflects the better bottle.

April 2, 2020 - Rocking Barolo: power, depth, elegance: leather, earthy, tobacco, dark cherry, espresso, nice acidity, strawberry, light to medium body, long finish, a wine to revisit. Ready now with an hour of air.

December 25, 2019 - A racy and ripe version of this bottling, but still showed enough of the Chiniera personality to make me happy. Ripe red cherries and minerality were there in spades. What it may lack in a second level of complexity, it makes up for in pleasure and yumminess.

October 4, 2019 - Right on song. Starting to settle into its drinking window. Tannins have softened. Lovely nose , good fruit and moderate length.
