March 23, 2018 - Casual Friday Dinner with Friends (Booth One - Chicago, IL): Tasted side-by-side with the 71. Nose leads with a balsamic note, but there is still plenty of freshness to the plum-driven fruit. Tannins fully resolved. Classic old school Napa flavors of cedar, dried tobacco leaf and bell pepper.

March 13, 2018 - Old Beaulieu Vineyard Wines (Cotroneo's, White Bear Lake, MN): Medium fully bricked maroon color, base neck fill, 1cm saturated cork. Popped and splash decanted; drank 1 glass over 45 minutes. The nose shows some cabbage at first that blows off over 5 minutes, then some mint, dried red fruits, funk, smoke and wood spice come forth. The palate is pretty thin, lighter bodied, subtle red cherry, black currant, creosote, smoke, complex tobacco spice and and the mint shows up later on the finish. This might be as good as one could expect from this at this point. Fun and enjoyable, unfortuantely the only of the four in any kind of shape.

August 11, 2017 - PnP, and this held up through almost three hours. Healthy cork with 80% bleed. Lightening color with browning is probably a bit younger than expected. olive, balsamic, red raspberry, grilled meat in that order. Some decent acidity and a bit of tannin left. Moderate length. Better than expected.

November 15, 2012 - Jen's Fund Raiser Dinner II (Max's Bistro, Fresno Ca.): Aged red berry fruit on the decline....nice dried leaves, mint, licorice, plum cherry, leather....silky soft feel...but didn't last too long in the glass.
