March 16, 2018 - I must say this wine is at the perfect point in its aging. It is wonderful on the nose, with cherries and leather, but it really shines on the mouth feel and finish. This drinks like a $100 plus wine. I am not sure how others averaged it to an 88.9 score because it is way better than that score!

If you have some, enjoy it now because it is fantastic!

July 5, 2014 - We had this at a friends 7/5/14 backyard BBQ. It had a subtle and moderately shy bouquet of plum, blueberry, smoke and spice aromas. The palate was smooth, round and harmonious with flavors of plum, blueberry, olive, burnt toast, char and spice. 88+

January 27, 2014 - Perhaps suffering from the comparison to the 2006 Cabernet along side of which it was served, this dark ruby wine offered blackberry, plums, coffee, mocha flavors. Seamless and graceful but lacking power or real presence.

August 2, 2013 - Big bouquet of fruit and spice. Palate in accord, dark fruit, a dash of prune, with some wood and chalk additions. Pinot color. Med weight, even light for a Syrah. Re the mouth feel, it tends to hunker down in the center of your tongue while the mild tannins prance about the edges and your cheeks. The window on this begins at 2015 per the site, but I'd say you can drink now and the outside is 2018.

May 25, 2013 - Exploring the Walla Walla Valley; 5/24/2013-5/27/2013 (Walla Walla, WA): Dark fruit, leather, and earth on the nose. Tons of dark fruit on the palate with oak and spice. Sort of your average non-minerally Walla Walla Syrah.

(Dunham Cellars Syrah Columbia Valley) An aromatically intriguing wine with butterscotch, vanilla, coconut, and dark fruit. The palate has luscious fruit flavors and bright, tart acid. The profile is oak driven but it still provides a lot of enjoyment and has a long life ahead of it. 100% Syrah. Lewis, Yellowbird, and Phinny Hill vineyards. Aged in American (51%) and French oak. 13.8% alcohol.
