January 15, 2022 - Needs a lot of aeration. Was much more open and tasty the second night.

November 16, 2021 - Deep velvety nose of dark bosky fruit - sweet fruit wrapped in soft tannins and quite long - delicious from the off. I unfairly marked this down earlier this year. The Community got it right!

November 4, 2021 - Decanted 2 hours with the tannins still having a firm grip. Background of austere dark fruit, tobacco smoke.

July 24, 2021 - This wine is a 60/40 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon & Merlot, and is the second label of Sassicaia.
Tasted after a two hour decant.
Dark ruby in colour with slightly restrained aromas of sweet black fruit, earth & oak, and is vaguely herbal.
On the palate, medium to full bodied black berry fruit, cassis, blackberry, blueberry, with well integrated oak, earthy, floral/herbal and mint.
There is high acidity & high silky tannins and a long finish to spice & black pepper.
This is lovely wine & should cellar well for several more years, but probably in prime drinking window now.

April 2, 2021 - Consistently good. Wide arrays of aromas from flowers (violets) to blue and red fruit, green peppers, toast, sous bois, wet leaves. Well balanced and integrated at this point, with refreshing acidity, good but not disturbing tannins structure, and not too warming alcohol. Great persistence of fruit one the mouth. Pleasant, in a great drinking window. After 10 years, tertiary notes are emerging, but will increase over the next 3-5 years. Enjoy!
