January 25, 2023 - Branaire Ducru Vertical (The Market Brasserie at the Intercontinental at the O2, London): I like this more than some around the table. It has a lovely delicacy from graceful aging with some Madeira cake, some baking parchment and later a little treacly richness. The palate has a little tea with the fading red fruits and a little demerara sugar. Lovely

July 22, 2021 - This must be one of the best vintages ever made at Chateau Branaire...
First of three bottles. Opened to top and recork the other two bottles as this wine has plenty of life left.
Deep hue with excellent clarity and minimal signs of aging. This could be from the early 90s...
Classic Medoc nose with cassis, mushroom, spices and tobacco. Still significant fruit at 55.
The texture is exquisite: seemless, full but light at the same time. Enough tannin to carry this wine for another 10 years.
    Just a class wine.

October 6, 2018 - Drank with FDV. Everybody was flabergasté. Tout le monde pensait à un vin des années 80-90. Très Bon, Ne fait pas son age .

May 31, 2018 - Starting to slowly decline, the wine offers more secondary notes than red fruit. Medium bodied, with a finish that is just a bit too bright and sharp, if you are sitting on any bottles, you should pop a cork sooner than later.

May 3, 2018 - TS level. Popped and poured. Vibrant colour with some mahogany on the rim. Lovely nose straight away, and fresh and energetic on the palate. Moderate complexity but such an enjoyable wine.
