November 3, 2019 - PnP. Wonderful depth, great length. Faded a bit over the evening

October 11, 2019 - Nose: Such a gorgeous deep nose here. Blackberry, licorice, blueberry and mineral all wrapped in a leathery, dusty note. Palate: Dense rutherford fruit showing black cherry, blackberry, ganache, sage, thyme and spice. Completely explosive mid palate. Finish: Great dusty black cherry and hints of tobacco.

2011 or not, this is a really nice wine with many years of potential. Expresses its vineyard site in Rutherford really well, and demonstrates why Celia is such a talented winemaker. No sharp edges, never green, this just delivers beautifully in the context of the vintage.

July 20, 2019 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Nose of blackberry, currant, mocha, spice with a hint of vanilla. Black and red fruit, mocha, licorice, spice, crushed rocks and fine tannins on the palate. Very long, soft, dry finish. Full bodied and dense. Excellent for the vintage. Served with grilled T-bone steaks with a Chimichurri sauce.

June 8, 2019 - Beautiful wine!!!! This second label from Scarecrow is a wonderful wine at a nice price point when compared to it's big brother. While the overall 2011 vintage was not received with great fanfare, this 2011 is a really nice wine! Out of the bottle the dark ruby wine reveals aromas of red and dark fruit with cassias and a hint of licorice making an appearance, too. This medium bodied red tasted a balance dark and red fruits, licorice and tobacco. The tannins were well integrated and the wine had a medium to long finish. This Rutherford wine is downright elegant! Still got life, but don't be afraid to drink one now!

March 30, 2019 - This bottle got swept up in the Wine Spectator "trash the 2011s" campaign. Time to drink it, an excellent bottle of wine.
